Christmas is going to be different this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t bring our community together to ensure the spirit of Christmas is alive in Letham. Working together, a host of local organisations and volunteers are asking local residents to join in Light Up Letham for Christmas. We might not be able together in person, as we keep people safe from COVID 19, but we can be together in the spirit of Christmas, shining a light in dark times.
Virtual Community Advent Calendar
We are asking local residents to decorate a window with a Christmas theme and send a picture into letham4all@gmail.com so we can open a virtual community advent calendar window everyday until Christmas on social media, as well as having lovely festive creations for all to see in our community. Local businesses and organisations are welcome to join in too !
To get Light Up Letham for Christmas started local residents, Jade Nicholson and Chevonne McLean in Kingswell Terrace are live streaming their local street light switch on, which they have organised for local families to watch from their gardens. This is happening at 5.00pm on 28th of November. If you are planning something for your street, send us you pictures and we can also add them to the Community Advent Calendar.
Community Christmas Tree Light Switch On
Join us on our facebook live stream of the Letham Community Christmas Tree switch on Monday the 14th of December. This year we can not ask people to attend but we are asking you to come out of your front doors and shine a light and raise a Christmas cheer for Letham at the same time, 7pm. This way we can be together, although apart.
