Letham4All are delighted to let you know that our Community Fridge Project is now open in the Hub, from Monday 23rd of March. It will be available from 9.00am -9.00pm Monday -Friday and 9.00am -1.00pm Saturday and Sunday. We have had our first delivery from Fareshare Scheme and some donations of fresh fruit, vegetables and eggs.
Our project aims to reduce food waste, but in these difficult times coping with the impact Coronavirus, it could be a very real life line for local people.
We are working with a number of organisations to co-ordinate support in North Perth and we believe our Community Fridge4All could help those who need to self isolate, with volunteers making up food bags, and for people who have been affected by a sudden reduction in income.
So we would ask that if you have the money and are able to access the shops, that you do so, leaving those who are in real need access to the produce in the Community Fridge4All . If you are in need of support please let us know by completing a simple online form here.
There is a cost of 20p per item/package and people can purchase up £2 worth of food per visit. Please remeber to bring your shopping bag !
We need people who want to use the Community Fridge to sign a simple membership/disclaimer form.
If you come into the building please:
- Wash your hands as soon as you come into the building.
- Keep a healthy social distance from our staff and volunteers
But if you think you have sypmtoms of a fever or a new continuous cough please do not come into the building, follow the NHS guidance and self isolate.
